Announcing Epoch

Posted on 2010-08-10

I'm pleased to announce a new project I've been working on called Epoch. Epoch (right now) is a content aggregation platform that attempts to bridge together all the disparate bastions of content that people are getting. It takes these information sources and combines them into a single webpage and RSS feed.

Right now Epoch supports Twitter, RSS, Delicious Bookmarks, and Flickr as sources. Twitter is currently being used as an authentication system but the plan is to get Facebook and OpenID implemented fairly quickly. It is still a little rough around the edges being in Alpha and all, but you can see what the final output looks like on my Lifestream page.

If you'd like to take a look at it, head on over to the Request Form and put in a request. I'm manually setting up accounts until some more things get polished as well as to better monitor performance. Any other questions you can hit me up at lifestream@ctankersley.com or chris@ctankersley.com. The homepage at http://www.myepoch.net will also be updated as various milestones are met.

[Editorial Note]

I changed the name from Gaia Lifestream to Epoch due to it being incredibly hard to get a short domain name with Gaia or Lifestream in it. Live and learn.
