Below are some of the projects outside of my own Open Source projects that I have worked on recently. Each project is unique and I look forward to any new challenges. If you are interested in working with me, feel free to send me an e-mail at chris@ctankersley.com.
Defiance County Veterans Database
The Defiance County Veterans Affairs office had a unique application. They catalogue veterans from Ohio (and other places) from many different sources. Their custom ASP and Microsoft Access solution had started to stifle growth, so they contacted me to help them update. The backend was rewritten into PHP 5 with the help of the Zend Framework and the database was ported from Access to MySQL 5. They are now in a position to better evolve as well as actually parse and use the data that they have collected.
Defiance Mothers and More
Defiance Mothers and More is a local mothers group that needed a redesign and a way to keep their website up to date with little overhead. The web master was updating all the files by hand using a simple HTML WYSIWYG editor and the site was becoming too much to keep updated this way. I converted them over to WordPress and created a new layout for the launch. They now maintain the website themselves and use WordPress as a content management system.
First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church was another conversion to WordPress and layout redesign. Originally they had use Frontpage to develop and maintain the website, but with a changing demographic they wanted a refresh. Not only did I help with the graphical design and conversion, but we added an online calendar of events, discussion forum, image galleries, and enabled podcasting.
Fort Defiance Players
The Fort Defiance Players is a local theater troupe in Northwest Ohio. It is an ongoing project using Kiroku as a base website builder. The website and design were built from scratch after the original web designer was unable to continue maintaining the website.
